Yes, the tag became a misnomer when we simplified the directory check to cover a missing '/usr' component, as well. The intent was to cover usr-bin-merge issues also, which relate directly to the spirit of the tag (although not to the name). > - I use variables in these scripts, which isn't noticed by lintian That is a far bigger and potentially insurmountable issue. The functionality of the tag was already impaired by gcc's SHF_MERGE feature. The tag should probably be retired. Kind regards Felix Lechner
