The upstream CSON files in fossil src/cson_amalgamation.c src/cson_amalgamation.h
were removed from the upstream Debian tarball for the fossil package, due to license problems. I discussed the issue with the fossil developers, and they were able to have the files re-licensed under a free license. (See message below.) It would appear that we can now revert the measures taken to purge these CSON files from various packages. This might involve updating the files to the versions from fossil, which have a sweet do-no-evil comment as an advice and a blessing, rather than a license. (Advice which I hope we take to heart in Debian, even though we are under no license obligation to do so!) I have accordingly uploaded fossil 1:1.27-1 with the above files itact per upstream, and JSON support enabled. --Barak. -- Barak A. Pearlmutter Hamilton Institute & Dept Comp Sci, NUI Maynooth, Co. That will happen immediately, simplifying Fossil's integration into Debian :). ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Jean Gressmann <j...@0x42.de> Date: Sat, Sep 7, 2013 at 2:36 PM Subject: Re: JSON_parser() license question To: Stephan Beal <sgb...@googlemail.com> Cc: Jean Gressmann <j...@0x42.de> Hi Stephan, long time no hear ;) You have my permission to strip out the "use for good, not evil' part for you use in Fossil SCM.
