person. In fact, it does (almost) the opposite, I would say.
It builds a 'fake' identity, but hides the real identity of its owner.

On the other hand, if virtually everyhting a certain person does is done under that pseudonym, then argumably the pseudonym would identify said person better than the persons real name.

Take Linus, for example, had he published Linux under a pseudonym then that psuedonym
may likely be better for identifying him then his real name.

It is very hard to draw the line. How does a legal name identify somebody better than a psdeuonym? For example I'm writting this under the name 'Joe Smith'. Should I reference that name you would know iI'm talking about myself. Should I reference my legal name, you would not be able to identify this message, or my other messages with me.

It is really a fine line, although I will admit that a pseudonym used only once really is worthless for identifying somebody.
