I think I made a mistake. That notification list probably exists only in a newer version of Gnome. But if it that important to you, consider using KDE, it works very well in Jessie (although I prefer gnome :/).

        Are you using Gnome? I've noticed this too. After installing
        KDE I've notice that it notifies me about the updates.
