I have also run Debian on my ASUS WL-700gE, but I wouldn't say that 64MB is "plenty" to run Debian. For my day-to-day use (mostly as router+NAS+jukebox) it was indeed sufficient, but doing upgrades via `apt-get' (which I consider as one of the cornerstones of Debian) was fairly painful.
