i was able to get it.  strangely, i had to enable SSID broadcast in my
router... which leads me to think there is something strange going on
with the router.  nonetheless, i am connected with WPA2-PSK and AES.

incidentally, i was able to get the rt2860 module working with kernel
2.6.26-2-686 by manually installing the rt2860sta-source[1] package
(which is only supposed to be for squeeze/sid), and then using
module-assistant to finish the installation.  maybe i can add that info
to the wiki article....
