I've had the same problem with my Sony Vaio. The wireless card is iwl3945 and when I did the upgrade (2.6.24 to 2.6.25) there was ipv6 modules and the package "firmware-iwlwifi" did not work properly. I also had problems with vserver (Linux vserver - virtualization) module. I don't know if the bug [1] is the same that your, but it sounds likely its. In Debian "Lenny" the last (minor) version of the package is 2.6.25.
