Thanks Franklin,
for more info, here a few things from my system:
pc3:/var/log# lsmod | grep 100
eepro100 29232 0
e100 32232 0
mii 5344 2 eepro100,e100
pc3:/var/log# dmesg | grep eth0
eth0: Xircom cardbus revision 3 at irq 11
eth0: Invalid EEPROM checksum 0xdf84, check settings before activating this
device!
eth0: 0000:00:03.0, 00:04:00:00:01:00, IRQ 11.
ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): eth0: link is not ready
pc3:/var/log# more /etc/modules
# /etc/modules: kernel modules to load at boot time.
#
# This file contains the names of kernel modules that should be loaded
# at boot time, one per line. Lines beginning with "#" are ignored.
#e1000
#e2100
e100
eepro100
loop
I've commented e1000 and e2100 and added e100 to /etc/modules but obviously
it doesn't help.
Any help would be very much appreciated. Just don't know how to do next... :(
you might want to try to add the modules you don't want to add to
/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist
That should stop them from loading .
