Do you have an entry in your /etc/network/interfaces for your wireless card? iface wlan0 inet dhcp allow-hotpulg wlan0 auto wlan0 After you do that type ifup wlan0 to bring up the network interface. Of course, replace 'wlan0' with whatever your wireless card is called. I'm pretty sure I had to manually add the entry when I configured my wireless card. I hope this helps.
