Hi,

i have a problem with my wlan card (ipw2200).
I'm running debian stable with a 2.6.16-2-686 kernel from backports.org.
The card worked in this environment for some time, but now it seems i
broke something. I don't know what.

The module is loaded (ipw2200, ieee80211 and firmware_class), but in the
syslog i found, that the firmware loading failed (ipw-2.4-boot.fw load
failed: Reason -2). The firmware 2.4 is in the directories listed in
/etc/hotplug/firmware.agent. After some search at google, i tried "echo
100 > /sys/class/firmware/timeout" before modprobe, without success.

It seems to me that the "firmware.agent" wasn't started at all.

Are there any hints?

TIA,
Arne

Hi

Just try to put your firmware in: "/lib/firmware" folder.

It works for me with ipw2200 and bcm43xx
