Do you think it would make much difference on a relatively slow old machine (Libretto 230Mhz)? The price difference is generally fairly significant here. For example: Seagate ST9100824A 5400rpm - UKP 111.60 Seagate ST910021A 7200rpm - UKP 163.53 That would be 50% more for what would be a 30% increase in speed, even assuming the performance increases exactly in proportion with rotational speed..
