My understanding was that pcmciautils replaces pcmcia-cs. Do you mean
that "ifup $DEVICE" is called automatically without *any* additional
tools? Not even hotplug?
I invoke "ifup $DEVICE" by hand. Maybe it is not very convenient, but
sometimes I do not want to be connected to the network.
