I understand. That is, I can see the need for more experimental stuff with AMD64. > MM patchset because this is a laptop and not a server, and I have read, that > the mm kernel is geared towards the multimedia/desktop world, isn't it? But I don't think that is correct. The 'mm' doesn't stand for multimedia. As far as I know, it's more or less a playground for various patches, to get some testing before they are considered for the mainstream kernel. Ofcourse, with the server background of Linux and the shift towards laptops/deskops, you could say that the percentage of mm-patches related to laptops/desktops is higher than those in the mainstream kernel. So, in that sense, it may be slightly more geared towards laptops/desktops. > So if everything is running fine with your kernel, I cannot tell you any > promising things to try out, sorry. Too bad, I'm still looking for this feature that will double my battery life, triple the speed of the CPU, makes my 4:3 screen wider and adds 100 Gb to my drive. Oh, and blu-ray capabilities for my CD/DVD drive, ofcourse. But I guess I'm out of luck :-) Koen -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
