Some times ago, I asked for help in installing a wireless card.
The card was broken - now I have a new one - by random the
same card as before: belkin f5d6020g ver. 1.
There was an offer at ebay, so I thought why not, cause
this card should be supported by orinoco_cs and linux-wlan-ng.
The card works under windows and it runs one time under
orinoco_cs. - yes first not, then it runs (i don't know
which kernel I tried :-) and then never again.
I thought: maybe orinoco is not stable for the card and
I need linux-wlan-ng. So I upgraded to testing and
installed kernel 2.4.25-1-586tsc and the linux-wlan-ng
package. I can't get it to work.
The system comes up (pcmcia start) and I get the information
appended below.
Some of the options in /etc/network/interfaces don't work, but
the essid is set right.
When trying to ping I get the following message:
p80211knetdev_hard_start_xmit: Tx attempt prior to association, frame
dropped
I can't find something on that error.
Any help would be nice again, I'm a little frustrated, first
card broken, second card bought according to list of supported
cards and bad luck all time - and it is much time I invested.
Why couldn't be there a card which I just insert and it says
yes I will work for you :-)
