-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I have an Asus L2430D laptop and the fan makes too much noise. I remember that when Windows XP was on my laptop, it was not noisy at all. Then I switched to Debian GNU/Linux, and it had periods of low noise, then (maybe every 5 minutes) 1 minute of high noise. Now, I don't remember when, but I'm almost sure it was after a kernel upgrade, I get a low noise for the first 2 minutes after starting the OS, then high noise all the time...
So, since all this noise is not needed, how can I step back to that Windows-XP-noise-level I wrote about above? I have kernel 2.6.6 (installed through the kernel-image-2.6.6-1-k7 package) and ACPI modules ac, asus_acpi, battery, button, fan, processor, thermal installed. I hope you can help me!
