Thanks Frans, I have downloaded the boot.img and root.img floppy images.
Do I have to download the CD image as well? It looks to me that it's trying to download the different components off the network, not from the CD. At this moment I don't have a permanent internet connection. :-( I see that this installation process has changed quite a bit. I still have the problem seeing fewer lines on my console. :'-( Thanks again. -Marvin PS. I'll keep trying. PPS. Yes, it's an old machine. :-) It's a Toshiba Satellite 1400-S151 -----Original Message----- From: Frans Pop [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, May 31, 2004 1:25 PM To: debian-laptop@lists.debian.org Cc: Marvin Aguero Subject: Re: Console does not display all the lines -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 > I am trying to install debian on my laptop (Toshiba Satellite). If you're installing Woody, you may want to try the new Debian Installer and install Sarge instead. Debian Installer is available from [1]. Try the link to the Ports Status Page. I'd advice the daily builds as they are very close to the release of the first Release Candidate. I recently had a very successful install on a Satellite A40, but I'm guessing your machine is an older model. Good luck.
