I've got a commute bike messenger bag from timbuk2.com that has a nice chunk of padding that seperates my back from my laptop. I've used it for at least a couple of years of a regular (but short and not too rough commute) and haven't had any mechanical problems with any of the laptops I was dragging around. diane
