Inspiron: no more beep with alsa

Hello,

I have just upgraded to Kernel 2.6[.5] my Inspiron 8200
running under testing/unstable:
now my sound card is properly recognized by ALSA,
nevertheless the beep is no more there:
I want it back, any idea ?
