Have anyone successfully installed debian sid (unstable) on a Compaq Evo N1015v with the vital components of the computer working? Or better, is there any good way to compile a recent kernel with patches that are compatible with this nice AMD Athlon XP notebook? I've been using RH9 (with kernel patch 2.4.21-pre5-ac3-mhp3) with nearly everything working on it (except AMD PowerNow) but I still miss my on-the-edge sid in my desktop PC, though its general kernel can only be aware that there's a computer with only the vital components but no sound, etc.
