I can't help with the specific driver, but as far as upgrading to 2.6, 
the one thing you'll definitely want to do is upgrade to a version of 
modutils that supports the 2.6 module API.  I believe the version in 
testing will do, and it's backwards compatible (or rather includes the 
binaries for) 2.4.
