Hi guys. I suggest you never go back out there and look for a new mobile phone, if you've got one that works for you. Anyway, I did, and I found myself in a complete mess. I was looking for a mobile phone to connect my laptop via usb cable/no irda on my laptop/ to the internet when I'm out. Simple task, I would have thought. However, it wasn't that simple after all. It looks like there are millions of useless mobile phones with thousands of cameras, infra red cameras, whatever cameras, but very few with a built in modem. After a few frustrating visits in shop, I found out that 1-Nokia 6610 (279 Euro!!!) with a usb cable (82 EURO!!!!!!!!) can do this 2-Siemens c 66 (I think) with camera (???) and usb cable (about 350 Euro all together) can do this 3-Motorola c350 (99 Euro!?) with a simple (3 Euro or something cable) can do this as well, but doesn't have the usless camera.
Now then, I thought, MOtorola is what I'm looking for. Plus it comes with vodafon sim card, with which you can get 20 euro all connection inclusive per month. I come to the question then. Has any of you tried to work with any of these phones (or different ones, advice is always welcome) to connect with linux? It looks like windows doesn't need any extra software for the motorola, so it might work for linux as well. cheers Ale
