Actually, these attachments are virusses (currently mainly Gibe-F), which is calling for an anti-virus tool. Apparently, here at the Univ. of Bremen they use amavis (http://www.amavis.org/) on Debian (!). Maybe you want to look into this also. Best regards, Stefan debian @ goessling . de
