I believe that that is a Prism II based card, so try this:

wireless_enc on
wlan_ng_key0 01:23:45:67:89:ab:cd:ef:01:23:45:67:89

this was posted by martin list-petersen and it's worked for a couple of people on the list.

Hello!

I have a SMC 2632W Version 3. It works, but with no encryption. Can anybody help me?

# /etc/network/interfaces -- configuration file for ifup(8), ifdown(8)
#auto eth1
iface eth1 inet dhcp
                wireless_mode managed
                wireless_rate auto
                wireless_essid ????
                #wireless_essid ANY
                wireless_key off
                #wireless_key 9FDF3BFDFB10AFEB0925EF9605
                #wireless_key s:test
                #wireless_mode ad_hoc
                wireless_nick default

I want to use the 128bit-encryption.
What must i do?
I write the word "test" in field (access-point) and write the output (number)
into this line
                wireless_key s:9FDF3BFDFB10AFEB0925EF9605
or
                wireless_key 9FDF3BFDFB10AFEB0925EF9605

I write the word "test" like this way
                wireless_key s:test
or
                wireless_key test

It does not work. Does anybody know why or can anybody tell me howtos or links?

Thanks in advanced and sorry about my terrible english
