Actually, yes. The Radeon 9000 is only supported by XFree 4.3. You can fetch them from experimental: deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ ../project/experimental main or from apt-get.org or ... I'm very curious about the TFT panel you're using. If it happens to be a Samsung LTN150P1-L02 I wish you the best of luck. I have one myself and it refuses to work properly with the 9000.
