Using slmdm-2.7.14 software I can get the modem on the R31 to phone.
But I have had no successful ppp connections so far. The typical log
looks like this:

The handshaking process fails every time.
Any ideas on how to solve the problem?
I am using the 2.4.20 kernel at the moment.
Another related problem: When I interrupt the dialing process with
control-C the Thinkpad hangs (in wvdial and also when trying out
minicom) and I had to keep in the power button to switch it off.
