The 'normal' method to get cd IDE burners going under linux is to use the ide-scsi kernel module, by passing hdx=ide-scsi on the kernel command line. I think I'm right in saying that pre 2.5 kernels do not support native IDE burning... Also, reading this: http://www.codemonkey.org.uk/post-halloween-2.5.txt suggests that the 2.5 kernel series _does_ do native IDE burning, but only with a new version of cdrecord. I think it's fairly likely that this is what cdrecord has just started supporting. HTH, matt -- Matt Foster [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.mattfoster.clara.co.uk icq: 106411042
