Jeremy, I found this link: http://h20015.www2.hp.com/content/common/manuals/lpi05595/lpi05595.pdf;jsessionid=4JPQUDKI3RA5DQEXGRMEOSQ that indicates that you basic unit has an Realtek RTL8100L NIC. - From another link: http://www.geocrawler.com/archives/3/428/2002/8/0/9377431/ This sounds like you are running an older version of the 8139too driver... grab the latest from http://sf.net/projects/gkernel/ or kernel 2.4.20-pre1.
