Some progs like dosemu und isofs seem to make use of it.
And klogd writing ugly lines to the boot log, if the System.map is missed or
doesn't match the kernel version. klogd looks for three places:
1. /boot/System.map
2. /System.map
3. /usr/src/linux/System.map
accepting also format like 'System.map-2.4.20'
