I've also an A31 but the D5G and X has some problems when it returns from suspend. As a warkaround you can switch to a console and then activate the suspend mode (eg. apm -s/Fn-F4). Afaik I was never able to acually use hibernation. This screen phenomenon seems to be kind of teething troubles of the A31. Bjoern
