 I see, didn't know they were this much diffrent.

When I had mandrake 9.0 on this machine, I noticed it had loaded a "radeon" 
driver instead of an "ati" one, which at the time was very strange for me, 
because AFAIK there is no "radeon" driver in XFree86.  Wierd I guess
