Hi I'm trying to get this sound "card" to work with 2.4.18 Woody kernel, and I tried ac97_codec.o i810_audio.o soundcore.o kernel drivers, which lead to a very peculiar barely audible sound (like a modulated system beep).
I also heard of the reports of people using ALSA on this laptop, so I installed alsa-drivers-0.9: `modprobe snd-intel8x0` succeeds, but xmms gives an error: "oss_open(): Failed to open audio device (/dev/dsp): No such device" Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your time. Oleg P.S. I'm attaching MS Windows description of the device.
