Check /etc/inetd.conf if you have: #:MAIL: Mail, news and uucp services. smtp stream tcp nowait mail /usr/sbin/exim exim -bs if you do it is not running as a daemon. > I'm betting you need to change some of your local addresses in > exim.conf from domain names to IPs.
