Dear list, After all kinds of unsolved problems with the killed processes while installing over PLIP (see my earlier mails to the list) I decided to create a DOS-partition, copy the files over my parallel-link with other software and start the installation system from there.
But, when I've copied the appropriate files (vanilla-flavour) from the Woody-CD-ROM and start the installation by install.bat - the kernel loads properly and will start loading a RAM-disk-image. It displays 'RAMDISK: Compressed image found at block 0' and the cursor moves to the next line. Nothing happens after that. What can I do to see what's going wrong? Are there any boot-parameters concerning laptops I could try? Why doesn't de installer load properly? Thanks in advance for any help. I've been trying to install Debian/GNU Linux on my laptop now for a few days. Don't want to switch to some other distro... ;( Sjon Wijnolst, The Netherlands.
