May i suggest installing the "suggested" software packages for xserver-xfree86
(that is, run "apt-get install discover mdetect read-edid")
which are for graphics board detection, mouse detection, monitor
detection - then run "dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86" which hopefully
will select the correct screen resolution automatically.
Else edit /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 and add the real screen resolution of
your TFT Display to all color dephts there as first entry.
