I never managed to have the mouse working properly in X and for virtual consoles at the same time. By the way, the drag-and-drop function does not work, neither for the cPad nor for a USB whell-mouse - probably I did not set the 3 buttons emulation right. My Laptop is at home right now, so I can't access the XF86Config-4 file. Anyone has the same problem? Cheers Patrick PS: Beep! apparently David Gardiner was faster, well I post my answer anyway.
