On the other hand, I seem to remember the X maintainer on the debian-x mailing list saying he uses a iBook. You'd want to confirm with him if it's true, though. I use Toshiba (an old 490CDT, admittedly). I prefer the mouse button-stick (what's the proper term for these things?) over the touchpads. It's something to think about if you're buying your first laptop.
