You (who aren't root) need read permission on /dev/smapi in order to examine settings. You also need write permission in order to change settings.
Try sudo tpctl --H -- Thomas Hood -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
