In my experience also, the Debian List unsubscribe system has significant problems. Some months ago I very patiently followed the relevant instructions similar to:I no longer wish to supscribe to this mailing list. I've mailed the admin on my particular issue and received no response. Please remove the address [EMAIL PROTECTED] from the list.
in order to unsubscribe from the debian-user and debian-curiosa lists. It took five attempts to get unsubscribed from debian-curiosa (including two or three emails to the list master) and several attempts to get unsubscribed from debian-user. Getting unsubscribed from the latter list was rather important for me because of the unexpectedly huge number of posts to that list.To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
So, the sad fact is that those two Debian lists were in effect spamming me (for lack of a better word) for a combined month at least, and evidently others are still receiving unwanted Debian List emails despite their faithfully following the instructions for unsubscribing.
