You mean you can't find the right driver in the list that alsaconf gives you? Look at 0x33 (ESS_Maestro-1/2/2E (ES1968/1978) chips). The sorting that alsaconf does is horrible. Or do you mean that alsaconf won't find the right module? Make sure that you have alsa-modules for the right kernel version installed. red> sorry for my bad english ;) Your English is mostly fine. A few notes, though: "I have *a* "network" laptop..." (only use "an" when the next word begins with a vowel. Otherwise use "a".) And in English, the names of languages (at least human languages, though it's mostly true of computer languages too) are always capitalized, so it's "English" and not "english". The word "I" is also always capitalized. You have some other mistakes, but these are the easiest ones to remember and to explain. (e.g. "i must did" -> "I must have done" -- I have no idea what kind of rule that would be.) - -- Hubert Chan <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> - http://www.geocities.com/hubertchan/ PGP/GnuPG key: 1024D/71FDA37F Fingerprint: 6CC5 822D 2E55 494C 81DD 6F2C 6518 54DF 71FD A37F Key available at wwwkeys.pgp.net.
