"gnome-session" wont work

Hello Debian-users! Thank you for the formers answers to my questions, wich of many was helpfull. Now Im stuck with anotgher problem (honestly, I was from the very beginnig ...): When I try to start up gnome from the commandline with the command "gnome.session" I get the error message: dev/dsp no such device. Does anyone have an Idea what this means, and how to get gnome start from the commandline? Thanks in forward! Greeting, Axel
