Once This looks like a good place for me to ask my question. I actually have a Sparc workstation, but the question is related to what was said above. My dmesg contains: Sparc Zilog8530 serial driver version 1.41.2.6 tty00 at 0xffede004 (irq = 44) is a Zilog8530 tty01 at 0xffede000 (irq = 44) is a Zilog8530 tty02 at 0xffedb004 (irq = 44) is a Zilog8530 tty03 at 0xffedb000 (irq = 44) is a Zilog8530 Sun TYPE 5 keyboard detected without keyclick but I don't have any tty0[0-3] in my /dev directory. I do have ttyN, where n is 0-63 (no leading zeros on single digit numbers), and ttyS[0-3]. Why does the kernel report tty0[0-3] when there is no such thing in the /dev directory, and besides the serial port connects to a different device ttyS[0-3]? -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] Welcome to the GNU age! http://www.gnu.org
