Heere the scoop. I have a compaw presario 1700.
Red Hat linux runs beutifuly on it. HOwever, since i like noodling with debian on my main rig, i would to have a debian on my laptop. after trying to get some help from the irc debian. it seens that my problem is with the cardmangr. When i boot up normal with kernel 2.2.17 it just hangs on starting pmcia services, but using 'boot: linux 1' i can skip this stage and reinsall the pcmcia services but when i reboot it seems that debian POTATO then hangs when trying to start 'cardmgr' i have a linksys NP10T ehternet card please thank you for all the help. g
