I got X working on mine using 3.3.6 and the SVGA server found here: http://www.probo.com/timr/savagemx.html
If you use 3.3.6 and that server you should be fine. You can also use frame buffering as well - for details on how to do that you can go to: http://wtsupport.metatec.net/technotes/redhat6.2-tecra8100.html It also has links on how to get the ALSA sound modules working which is helpful.
