I use aewm, which was just recently packaged for Debian by it's author Decklin Foster. It is very very minimalist. You can see it's home page at http://www.red-bean.com/~decklin/aewm I also use another "window manager" with it to give myself key bindings, and that is "nawm" from MIT, "nawm" stands for Not A Window Manager.
