I had a similar problem with a Toshiba. Turned out all I had to do was hold down the F1 key while booting and the system came up in the BIOS Setup program. Surely, there's a similar key combination for your laptop. I could get no information from the company. I called a local repair shop that specialized in Toshiba and they gladly gave me the information.
