Hi, since initial X installation didn't work. I downloaded the 3.3.6 from xfree86.org and override the one from debian. It is worse, I got quite a few Segmentation Faults.
Now I want to back-up to my debian-X already downloaded packages. So I have to use dselect to remove them and then install again or can I just specify where the packages are and let dpkg or similar do the reinstall? I tried "dpkg-deb -x *.deb", but it doesnt work. remove and reinstall through dselect would be a very tedious job. any suggestion? Thank you all Ben
