Thanks to everyone who gave me information about running a Xircom RealPort Ethernet 10/100+Modem 56 PCMCIA cards. I have identified my problem: I don't have any PCMCIA modules built in. (Oops!) I recently compiled a new kernel (2.2.13). Everything is fine in that regard. But now, I need to build the PCMCIA modules and install them. I have the PCMCIA packages that I need in order to do this, from the following ftp site: (ftp://sourceforge.org/pcmcia/pcmcia-cs-3.1.8.tar.gz). However, I don't know how to build the modules. Can anybody point me to a web page that might offer instructions on how to build and install them?
