i have read the posts in the archive from september but i still have some problems
i have a vaio 505 FX too but i still wasnt able to put debian on it (i have the sony pcmcia interfaced cdrom drive too and the two debian 2.1 cd's) i did as told on the post and dl'ed the rescue/boot tecra disks and driver tecra disks from http://www.debian.org/~joeyh/stable-update/resc1440tecra.bin.2.1.11.1-i386 http://www.debian.org/~joeyh/stable-update/drv1440tecra.bin.2.1.11.1-i386 and made the disks i boot off the floppies and then enable pcmcia support (the alernate choice to device drivers) and select [*] PCMCIA controller [*] CDROM on the dialogs that follow i keep the defaults and then chose to install de base from the cdrom (proprietary) and it says that the cdrom isnt mounted and jumps to the device drivers dialog do you have an idea where i did something wrong ? thanks in advance bruno waes bowa
