To activate the s-video port,
right-click on the desktop,
then "Graphics options"
then "Output to..."
then "television".
The lcd screen becomes blank, and the television shows the desktop.
If the picture disappears from the laptop and does not appear on the television,
Fn+F8 until it appears again.
