I've got a ThinkPad i 1480 and I had a little bit of trouble getting the binary kernel module working for the Lucent winmodem that's avaiable on linmodems.org. It appears that it was compiled for the kernel in RedHat 6.1 (2.2.12-20). What I'm wondering is if I should use the kernel packages for Potato (2.2.13) or get the source for 2.2.12, or even switch to RedHat if I want to get the modem working.
